With the Pyrenees literally on the doorstep the great outdoors here is just that !

The main road D118 through Limoux into the mountains towards Quillan is breathtaking. It meanders along side the river Aude which is literally littered with centres for white water rafting, kayaking, canyoning & rock climbing. Slightly less adventurous there are plenty of trails into the hills with stunning views of the medieval Cathar Castles; which can be enjoyed either on foot, by bike, horse or even donkey….  We have most local trail maps available at the house, but most “maisons de presse” and the numerous tourist offices will be able to provide maps.

Gliding is available at the town of Puivert.

Heading to the coast, the lovely village of Gruissan with its amazing beaches is home to the centre of Kite Surfing and windsurfing both on the local etangs and off the beach. Areas are strictly zoned to specific sports so pay attention and ask at one of the many schools around, they are more than happy to help. Also available are jet skis, ringo rides and hobby catamarans off the beach at the back of Gruissan village.
